There are four road routes into Vielha.

The most popular road route is via the N-230, passing through the Vielha tunnel (5,173 m in length), which connects the Ribagorça region (the tunnel’s southern entrance, at 1,626 m in altitude) with the Val d’Aran (northern entrance, 1,390 m).

From the Pallars Sobirà region, the C-28 crosses the Pòrt dera Bonaigua (2,072 m) and travels the 14 km between Baqueira and Vielha.

From France, there are two access routes into the Val D’Aran: Pònt de Rei and the Pòrt deth Portilhon. Both connect with the N-230, the first via the French N-618 and the second via the D618A, which becomes the N-141 until the town of Bossòst.
