WHAT TO DO

Don’t miss a visit to Vilac’s church tower, the only one in the Val d’Aran that is open to visitors. A Gothic construction, towering four storeys above the church, the bell tower boasts a Baroque clock and the entire structure that supports the bells, which was built in the 17th century. Enjoy the stunning views from the bell tower over much of Vielha and a frontal view of the mountains around Vielha pass. To visit the bell tower, advance reservations are required.

·       During the summer months, don’t miss the chance to take a guided tour of the church of Sant Felix de Vilac. This church, as well as with other churches in the municipality, is included on the Aran Romanesque Route, as part of which the Val d’Aran’s churches open their doors to visitors, allowing them to enjoy the beauty and brilliance of Aran’s architectural heritage. Check opening hours and dates.

·       A 4x4 trip to the valley of the Ribèra de Salient, which thanks to its fortunate position in the central part of the valley makes a spectacular belvedere over the rest of the municipality. 5 km from Vilac you’ll come to the Ribèra de Saliet viewpoint, now a picnic area, with fantastic views of Vielha.

·       A lovely walk along the Camin Reiau to the villages of Mont and Montcorbau.
