WHAT TO DO

During the summer months don’t miss the chance of a guided visit to the church of Sant Pèir de Escunhau, as, like other churches in the municipality, it is included on the Aran Romanesque Route, as part of which the Val d’Aran’s churches open their doors to visitors, allowing them to enjoy the beauty and brilliance of Aran’s architectural heritage. Check opening hours and dates.

From the village itself, it is possible to reach the leafy fir tree and birch forest of  La Tuca, from where a dirt track leads to less well-known, but no less beautiful spots such as the Lago de Escunhau (a 40-minute walk), or the former ski station of La Tuca, at 1,800 metres.

A pleasant, relaxing walk through the forest of the Tuca, - whether on foot, by bike, or even on snowshoes - towards the villages of Escunhau, Betren or Vielha and returning via the Camin Reiau.
